Goals...

I am sitting here writing on one of my screenplays that has been requested and I decided to write a blog for you.

I am a big fan of setting goals. You don't have to go crazy in detail with your goals, just know what you want. Myself, I want to make amazing movies, television series, short films and anything else where I can share stories with the world. Eventually I want to start up my own production studio and make amazing films here in Australia.

The hard part, how do I get there?

Figuring out what you want to do in life is hard, some people know at a young age and some people never find the thing they want. Once you know what it is, that's when it gets harder.

A lot of people don't do what they want because they think they can't do it. It doesn't help that a lot of the time you have people around you telling you how hard or impossible it will be.

My tip for you is to completely ignore anyone and hold close those people who encourage you.

As I said before, it is going to be a hard journey getting to where you want to be. Sometimes it may seem impossible, but the most important thing is that you never think of it that way. There are big people on this planet who have probably done it, so it's possible. Those people who work their butt's off are the ones who make it. "Good things come to those who... work their butt's off and never give up."

In the last two years I have had two main goals that people told me were impossible.

#1: Get a book published.
#2: Break into the film industry from Australia.

Right now as I write this I have my book launches coming up for 'The Rise' series books. I also have a manager with offices in Los Angeles and New York.

I am not saying this to brag. The reason I like to share things like this is to motivate and inspire people. If I can make even one person realise what they want to do is possible, than I've done my job.

One of my newest goals is to work with all these people below.
Obviously working with all of them will take time but there is a big difference between something being impossible and something that will just take time.

I may not know most of the people who will read this but I want you to know I believe that YOU can do whatever it is in your life that makes you happy. It also doesn't matter who believes and doesn't believe in you. You may have strangers, friends and even family that tell you that what you want to do is impossible, but no matter who it is, ignore them and do what makes you happy. It is your life and no one else's.

If you decide to comment, I would love to hear what your goals are in life and have you ever had people put you or your goals down?

Have a fantastic day and stay creative.

If you want to do something in life, do it. Never let anyone make you feel like you can't do it. That's just them pushing their belief and insecurities onto you. In a few short years I've discovered what I wanted in life and worked my butt off towards getting there. In that time I have ha so many people tell me that it's almost impossible to get a book published and that it 'IS' impossible to break into the film industry from Australia.

I have ignored every single one of those people because I know my future. Also in those few short years I've learnt different styles and formats of writing, from novels to screenplays, loglines, synopsys', treatments and more.

I've also had a book series picked up by a publisher and landed an amazing manager in Los Angeles and New York for my television series and feature films scripts. Those scripts are currently on the desks of some pretty major U.S. production companies.

Luck had nothing to do with it, I know what I want and I work my butt off daily to get there and when I get to my goal, I'll work even harder to become the best.

If you want something out of life, ignore the people who say you can't and hold close those who support you. Go for it and be the best you can be at whatever it is. In the eyes of those people I've already done the impossible.

You want it? Go get it...
